DETROIT — The inaugural Detroit 2020 Awards were presented this week during a ceremony at the Broadcast House. Awards were distributed in three categories that match the mission of Detroit 2020.
The UNIFY award was presented to Toni McIlwain, President of Ravendale Community Organization. Toni has been instrumental in organizing 32 block clubs in the east side Detroit neighborhood. She also runs the Ravendale Community Center which provides a wide range of services for residents.

The INSPIRE award was presented to The Front Porch. This group is dedicated to providing educational and recreational opportunities to children in Detroit according to their interests, initiatives and needs. The award was presented to the founder and president, Jean Vortkamp.
The ACT award went to Motor City Blight Busters. This non-profit organization works to ensure the stabilization and revitalization of Detroit neighborhoods. The founder and President, John George accepted the award for Blight Busters.
