DETROIT — Arrests were recently made by federal agencies in cities across the country, including Detroit, as part of a nationwide prostitution sting.
The FBI, along with other federal agencies, rescued over 100 children and teenagers, during an undercover operation that involved 76 cities across the country.
In metro-Detroit, 10 children were rescued and 59 arrests were made in Macomb, Oakland, Wayne and Genesee counties. Arrests took place in the suburbs at hotels in Southfield, Dearborn, Romulus and other cities.
According to a spokesman for the Detroit FBI, the recovered children are all now in safe custody. A total of 150 pimps were arrested nationwide. Eighteen of the arrests occurred in Detroit.
