DETROIT — The Rosa Parks Transit Center in downtown Detroit was transformed into a movie set this week, as filming commenced in the City on Sunday, Aug. 4 for the “Transformers 4” movie.
The bus station and surrounding streets were shut down on Sunday at 5 a.m. and reopened on Monday at 4 a.m.
The Detroit Department of Transportation posted signs and directed passengers to nearby locations to catch their buses, while the station was closed.
However, the temporary closure did create some confusion for people, who usually take the bus from the station.
“Somebody told me to catch it in one place, but when I got over there, it was the wrong place, so I missed my bus,” one resident told the Detroit Free Press.
The latest Transformers movie, starring Mark Wahlberg and Nicola Peltz, has been filming in different locations in Michigan since the beginning of the summer. It is expected to be released in June of next year.
