MICHIGAN — According to a report released by AAA Michigan this week, gas prices have fallen by 16 cents over the past week, leaving the statewide average at about $3.50. On Monday, the group found that the average was 49 cents per gallon less than this time last year. 

AAA Michigan says that the cheapest price for unleaded fuel is in the Traverse City area, where it can be found for about $3.43 a gallon and the highest in the Marquette area, priced at $3.69 a gallon. AAA Michigan is based in Dearborn and surveys 2,800 gas stations a day.
