“Approaching Midnight,” a movie, directed by Arab American filmmaker Sam Logan Khaleghi, will premiere at Emagine Theater in Royal Oak, on Friday, Aug. 30.

Khaleghi is a Detroit native. He is the producer of the Emmy-nominated show “Prison Boat.” He graduated from the University of Michigan-Dearborn and is a director, actor, writer and producer.

His new movie tells the story of a U.S. army sergeant, who returns home from war in Afghanistan to uncover and fight corruption in his hometown.

“Approaching Midnight” stars Jana Kramer, Brandon T. Jackson and Khaleghi himself.

The movie is distributed by Monterey Media Inc., which specializes in distributing independent films.
