DETROIT — A young boy was shot dead in front of his family’s porch on the west side of the City, after a birthday celebration in the early hours of Saturday, Aug. 31.

The boy, 12, was identified by WJBK-TV as Kenis Green, Jr. 

The shooting, which took place around 1:15 a.m., also wounded a 25-year-old man.

Sunsearae Hall, the boy’s mother, said a van drove by and started shooting at the porch, as the family was celebrating a birthday in front of the house.

Police arrested one person in relation to the shooting, which is still under investigation.
