DETROIT — The Michigan Judicial Tenure Commission recently made a recommendation, requesting that Wayne County Circuit Judge Wade McCree be removed from the bench.
The Commission has ruled that McCree exceeded his authority, when he violated judicial conduct. He was suspended, without pay, after admitting that he had an affair with a woman whose child support case he was handling. McCree has admitted that had an improper sexual, relationship with Geniene LaShay Mott, who had a case before him. Throughout the case, Mott complained that Robert King, the father of her child, needed to pay more in child support.
Recommendations are for King to be conditionally suspended, without pay, for six years, starting Jan.1, 2015, and for him to be ordered to pay court costs in the amount of $12,000.
The recommendation is now being forwarded to the Michigan Supreme Court for a formal ruling. No date has yet been set.
