DEARBORN — On Sept. 7, at 9:28 p.m., an attempted armed robbery was committed on Payne St., near Arthur. Two subjects ran up to a resident, as he was walking from his vehicle to his front porch. One subject placed a handgun to the victim’s head and shouted “Give us what you have!” The second subject held the victim and began grabbing at his pockets.
The victim fought back against his attackers, was struck in the head with the pistol and started yelling for help, while he struck the subjects as they were hitting him.
A neighbor, who witnessed the crime, followed the perpetrators in his car and provided a description to police. Two subjects, matching the detailed description given by the victim and witness, were apprehended by Dearborn Police only two blocks from the crime scene within minutes.
Nineteen-year-old Miran Delon Belyue and 20-year-old Darnell Thomas Brown, both from Detroit, were charged and arraigned on one count of attempted armed robbery and one count of felony firearm. Both are being held on a $25,000 cash bond. A preliminary exam is scheduled for September 20th at 9:00am in Dearborn’s 19th District Court.
