DETROIT — The Salvation Army of Metro Detroit gave its highest honor, the William Booth Award, to Edward Deeb, the founder of the Michigan Food and Baverages Association, at its annual Metropolitan Detroit Civic Award Dinner, on Oct. 23.

The event was held at 42 Degrees North, located inside the Detroit Marriot Hotel at the GM Renaissance Center.
Deeb has served on the Advisory Board of the Salvation Army for 25 years and is a regular sponsor of the Civic Award Dinner.
“Thanks to Deeb’s work, with his vast business network, The Salvation Army has recieved more than 750,000 in food donations over the past two decades,” said a statement by The Salvation Army.
The William Booth Award is named after the nonprofit’s founder. It is annually awarded to those who “Do the Most Good” in the community.
“Deeb was honored with the William Booth Award because he truly embodies the life, spirit and vision of Salvation Army founder William Booth,” the statement added.
