DEARBORN — The publisher of The Arab American News (TAAN) Osama Siblani, met with hundreds of students from the Arab Student Union (ASU) at Fordson High School, on Wednesday, Nov. 6.
Siblani talked to the students about his own career and the history of TAAN.
He stressed on the importance of Fordson, as the alma mater of many graduates, who went on to become leaders and successful entrepreneurs in the community.
Siblani urged the students to work hard and pursue higher education to continue the success story of the Arab American community.
“You are the future leaders, and inventors, and doctors, and lawyers of this community,” he said.
Siblani added that the community is moving forward and garnering more success, pointing to the election of Attorney Susan Dabaja to the presidency of the Dearborn City Council.
“It is a big victory,” he said.
Siblani added that he is excited about the growing number of students involved with ASU at Fordson. “When I came here three years ago, there were a few dozen students; now there are a few hundreds,” he said.
Fordson ASU honored Siblani with an award at the end of the lecture.
