DEARBORN — After an extensive investigation the suspect involved in the Benihana shooting here Nov. 12 has been identified as 28-year-old Darrius Demarr Greene of Detroit. Police are still searching for Greene who left the restaurant after shooting another man in the stomach that he was reportedly having dinner with.
The Wayne County Prosecutor’s office has issued the following charges against Greene: Assault with Intent to Murder, Assault with Intent to do Great Bodily Harm Less Than Murder, Felonious Assault, Carrying a Concealed Weapon, Felon in Possession of a Firearm, Discharging a Firearm in a Building, and Felony Firearm.
Anybody coming into contact with Greene, or who may know his whereabouts, is asked not to approach him, but to contact the police immediately. Greene should be considered armed and dangerous. Preliminary investigation indicates that this is not a random act and that the parties involved may have been acquainted in the past.
The victim, a 43-year-old Ann Arbor resident was in stable condition following the shooting and brought to a hospital for treatment. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Dearborn Police tip line at 313.943.3012.
