DETROIT — The American Arab Chamber of Commerce Executive Director, Fay Beydoun was among six recipients inducted into the International Institute Foundation Board’s Heritage Hall of Fame, on Tuesday, November 12.
The 30th annual gala, hosted at the Detroit Marriott in the Renaissance Center, recognizes leaders from various ethnic backgrounds, who have made outstanding contributions to the American way of life. Portraits of the inductees have been on permanent display in the second floor atrium of the Cobo Center.

Beydoun has served as head of the largest Arab American business organization in the U.S. since 2008. The Chamber continues to deliver services and counsel to companies, ranging from small business to multinational corporations.
The chamber is also in charge of organizing the Arab International Festival, which has attracted hundreds of thousands of tourists to the City of Dearborn on a yearly basis, for the last 20 years.
Aside from her duties at the Chamber, Beydoun also serves as Chief Operating Officer of the American Middle-East Economic Affairs Committee (AMEEAC), a role that allows her to further economic relations between the U.S. and the Middle East region. Projects Beydoun has been involved in include the U.S.-Arab Economic Forum, U.S. Arab Women’s Business Council and the U.S. Arab Leadership Program.
Also inducted into the Heritage Hall of Fame this year was Matthew P. Cullen, President of Rock Ventures, LLC, Honrable Melvin Larsen, former Chairman of the Michigan State Republican Party, Sudney L. Ross, founder of Great Lakes Wine and Spirits, Kathleen N. Straus, who serves on the State Board of Education, and Yolanda M. Zaparackas, who served on the State Board of Examiners.
