On Wednesday, Greene was arraigned before 19th District Judge William Hultgren. A preliminary hearing of the evidence against the suspect will be held at the 19th District Court on Dec. 20.
Greene, an ex-convict, is being held on $1-million cash bond. If he posts bond, he must be fitted with a GPS-equipped tether.
The Wayne County prosecutor’s office has issued the following charges against Greene: Assault with intent to murder, assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder, felonious assault, carrying a concealed weapon, felon in possession of a firearm, discharging a firearm in a building and felony firearm.
Greene had allegedly shot a 43-year-old Ann Arbor resident in the stomach at the restaurant on Nov. 12, 2013, according to police reports. The victim was critically wounded but survived the shooting. The alleged shooter was dining with the victim, according to witnesses. The investigation revealed that Greene was “acquainted” with the victim prior to the incident.
Police identified the suspect on Nov. 15. Greene was on the run until turning himself in.
Dearborn Police Chief Ron Haddad thanked law enforcement agents and people who helped police search for Greene.
“Greene made the right choice and decided to turn himself in realizing his capture was imminent. I would like to thank our regional partners, the U.S. Marshals for their collaborative efforts in attempting to locate Greene who had fled the state shortly after the incident,” he said in a statement.
