DEARBORN — The Lebanese American Heritage Club (LAHC) boasts one of the largest scholarship assistance programs in southeast Michigan.
Over the past 26 years, the Arab American Scholarship Foundation program has awarded over 1,200 students of high academic distinction over $1.3 million in scholarships.
The mission of this program is to provide scholarships to deserving and underprivileged students who possess the skills and desire to seek higher education. Recipients have included high school graduates, college undergraduates and graduate students.
Scholarship Amount: $1,000
Who’s eligible to apply?
– High School Seniors
– Undergraduate University Students
– Graduate University Students
Do I have to be of Arab descent to qualify?
No. This program is open to all students.
Criteria of Eligibility:
– High School Seniors must possess at least a 3.5 GPA
– Undergraduate student applicants must possess at least a 3.5 GPA
– Graduate student applicants must possess at least a 3.5 GPA
Applicants must maintain full time status:
a. Graduate students: 8 credits or more
b. Undergraduate students: 12 credits or more
c. High School Seniors: not applicable
Applicants must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents, and they must reside in the state of Michigan. Financial need is highly considered.

Required Documents:
All required documents, along with the scholarship application, must be submitted electronically at one time. Applications submitted via mail or delivered by hand will be rejected. No exceptions.

– Two letters of recommendations
– A copy of your current Student Aid Report (SAR)
– A 500-word essay describing how important it is to embrace diversity while maintaining a sense of pride in your ancestral heritage
