DETROIT — George Cushingberry, Jr., the new Detroit City Council President Pro Tem, was pulled over last week by Detroit Police. His passenger had medical marijuana and an open empty bottle of liquor in the car,, but Cushingberry was only ticketed for not using a turn signal.
This week, information has surfaced about Cushingberry’s driving record. According to reports, the state has a hold on his driver license due to unpaid parking tickets. Reports show that the long time politician has been racking up city parking tickets since 2002.
According to reports, Cushingberry was also accused of mishandling money in the Wayne County probate cases, in which he was barred from being appointed to by the court. Simultaneously, the Michigan Attorney General terminated his job as a Public Administrator for probate cases in Wayne County.
The Attorney Discipline Board, per reports, have reprimanded him twice before and he is currently facing possible discipline for another matter. The current discipline matter will likely be decided this week.
