HAMTRAMCK – The only outdoor mural with an Arab/Muslim theme has been completed. The OneHamtramck Arab Mural at 8762 Jos, Campau, is unique in Michigan because it is a portal of Arab life. The world renowned Chilean muralist, Dasic Fernandez finished up the wall on Dec 7th, 2013 before he returned to Chile. 

The mural will be around for years to come, for people to view, study and enjoy. The Arab American and Chaldean Council (ACC) sponsored the $20,000 project. It was also funded by the predominant Yemeni community in Hamtramck. 

The fundraising for the mural is not complete however. Money is still needed for lighting, protection and a wall plaque in a prominent place on the front of the Sheeba Restaurant.

Currently, the donations are at $626 and the online goal is $3000. Any donation will be accepted at the quickest rate possible. Those who donate $50 or more will be able to get it tax-deducted and their name will be included on the wall plaque.
