DEARBORN — The Arab American Civil Rights League (ACRL) this week reminded community members about two hotlines that were previously established to take complaints about the government No-Fly List and Watch List, in addition to the massive closures of Arab American bank accounts.
If you or anyone you know is either prevented from flying commercial flights or is stopped every time they go to the airport upon checking in and questioned for hours, the group can help.
“We will take your complaint and give you a plan of action to try and remove you from this governmental secret list that has effected so many in the Arab community,” a statement issued by the group this week read.
The ACRL has filed a class-action lawsuit against the banking institutions that have closed Arab American bank accounts without reasonable explanation. There is still time to be included in the lawsuit. To make a complaint about the government No-Fly List and Watch List, call 1.844.CANT.FLY. For complaints regarding the closure of bank accounts, call 313.633.0890.
