TROY— The city’s police department is seeking public assistance in helping find the individual responsible for the slaying of a gas station clerk here. The clerk, 63-year-old Athir Putres of Rochester Hills, was shot in the head, Saturday Feb. 7. 

According to police, Putres’ body was found behind the counter at the Clark gas station on Rochester Road and South Boulevard. On Monday, surveillance video from the gas station was being reviewed. Anyone with information who stopped at the gas station between 11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. is urged to call Troy Police at 248.524.3477 or its anonymous tip line at 248.524.0777.
