DEARBORN — As part of the U.S. Dept. of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs International Visitor Leadership Program, journalists from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Sharjah Media Corp. visited Henry Ford Community College on Mar. 19.
The purpose of this visit was for the UAE delegates to learn about HFCC, its diverse students, the HFCC Arab Cultural Studies program, the HFCC Telecommunication program and HFCC’s relationship with the media.
In turn, the UAE delegates showed HFCC President Stan Jensen and several members of his cabinet a short film about the establishment of the UAE in 1971. It also explained the country’s federal makeup and provided an overview of higher education, health care, and economic and social development. The film conveyed the UAE’s place in the world.
