DEARBORN — Kravat Menswear located at 14935 W Warren Ave, Dearborn, MI 48126 has been open since 2009.
Kravat offers a variety of casual and dressy Euro-English clothing for men. The store sells clothes and suits form band name companies, like French Connection and DKNY.
The owner, Hassan Saleh, has been in the clothing business since he was 14 years old alongside his family. Saleh was inspired to open up Kravat, which means “tie” in Turkish, when he helped put the wardrobe together for his cousin’s wedding.
He came to the realization that there were not many Arab-run menswear places in the area, so he thought he would take the initiative to open up his own.
Kravat runs differently than most menswear stores because of the connections Saleh builds with his customers. He takes the time to make sure every person leaves his store not only with satisfaction, but also with style.
“When a customer comes in, he is just not grabbing anything off the racks and walking out. We take the time to help ensure everything matches up and the customers looks good. We provide a comfortable environment for our customers,” said Saleh.
Customers can also rent or purchase tuxedos at reasonable prices. Purchase prices range from $150 to $400, and rental prices range from $80 to $200. “We want to make sure our customers look good without breaking the bank,” said Saleh.
Saleh maintains a family environment in the store. In most cases, he gives out his personal number to customers to contact him in case of suit emergencies. He has done same-day alterations and tailoring, both of which are available at the store. “We will go far and beyond to please our customers,” said Saleh.
The store is open Monday-Saturday from 11 AM- 9PM and on Sundays 12PM- 6PM. For more information about Kravat Menswear, call 313.581.1900.
