CLAY TOWNSHIP — On Tuesday, April 29, an autopsy was performed on the body of a dead infant who was found buried in a shallow grave here Sunday. The body was discovered in the 9300 block of Stone Road.
Clay Township Police Chief Don Drake says a person doing yard work for the homeowners discovered the decomposed body. Because the body was severely decomposed, authorities were not able to identify the infant’s gender or race.
The case is being treated as a homicide, and the cause of death still hasn’t been determined. It is also uncertain how long the infant was in the grave. On Monday, authorities interviewed potential witnesses.
