DEARBORN — The public is invited to attend the city of Dearborn’s annual Flag Day commemoration ceremony at 7 p.m. on Saturday, June 14 at Ford Field Park on Cherry Hill west of Brady.
The ceremony is held in conjunction with the Dearborn Allied War Veterans Council.
As usual, the Flag Day commemoration will include a dignified ceremony to burn tattered American flags, in keeping with American Legion protocols for the disposal of flags that are no longer fit for public display.
Members of the public may drop off tattered flags for burning at the ceremony site beginning at 6:30 p.m. The event marks the 237th anniversary of the adoption of the nation’s flag by the Continental Congress in 1777.
