LANSING – The Michigan Strategic Fund has approved nine projects which are expected to garner approximately 3,900 jobs to Michigan’s growing economy.
Various companies are investing millions of dollars to create jobs. General Motors plans to invest $800 million in Michigan, creating 1,750 jobs. Auto suppliers Challenge Mfg. will create 420 jobs via $2.3 million in incentives to build a plant northwest of Lansing. Solar company Suniva plans to construct a factory in Saginaw Township and create 350 jobs, thanks to $2.5 million in incentives.
The Michigan Strategic Fund will also assist YanFeng USA Automotive Trim Systems to expand a Macomb County plant and create 519 jobs.
Four other projects come about as a result of trade trips Gov. Snyder took to China, Italy and Canada.
