DEARBORN — On Tuesday, Dearborn Chief of Police Ronald Haddad and Crime Stoppers of Michigan held a press conference regarding a serial bank robber who has impacted multiple communities in southeast Michigan. Haddad offered a cash reward of up to $11,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of this suspect.
A lone suspect robbed the Charter One bank branch located at 23801 Michigan Ave. on Saturday, May 31. The suspect entered the bank, approached the teller and implied that he was armed as he demand money.
Since that date, two additional banks in Dearborn have been robbed by the same suspect: The Comerica Bank branch located at 13335 Warren Ave. on Friday, June 20; and the Chase Bank branch located at 7301 Wyoming Ave. on Wednesday, July 16. In all three incidents the suspect escaped with an undisclosed amount of cash and likely fled the area in a waiting vehicle.
The suspect has been described as a black male (medium complexion) in his 30’s, approximately 6′-6’2” tall, average build, and approximately 180 lbs. In several incidents, the suspect is wearing a baseball hat and sunglasses.
“Our investigation is ongoing and we believe assistance from the community will be crucial in making an arrest of this serial bank robber,” Haddad said.
