DEARBORN — On Wednesday, Oct. 8 from 6-9 p.m. a fundraiser will be held for community member and Dearborn resident Abrahim Hussein at Byblos Banquet Hall in Dearborn. Hussein has two daughters, ages 19 and 14.
Hussein fell into a coma after getting in an accident while driving back home from Ohio where he was vacationing.
A buffet style dinner will be served at the event. Both a priest and an imam will be present to recite prayers asking for Hussein’s recovery.
“The family is asking for everyone to come together and pray for him to get out of the coma and recover,” said Reyan Wehbe, a member of the group Pens for Peace, which decided to organize the event.
Malak Wehbe, also a member of Pens for Peace, said the group decided to hold the event because one of Hussein’s daughters is a member of the organization and they wanted to reach out and help their friend’s family during this difficult time.
“They need our prayers,” she said. “We should all come together and pray for this family. This situation is so important to us.”
All donations made at the fundraiser will be used to help the family pay for Hussein’s costly medical expenses. For more information on this event call 313.485.8863.
