MICHIGAN — The legal firm 1-800-LAW FIRM is offering a $10,000 grand prize to the winner of an essay contest it started to hear ideas from future lawyers about how to improve the ways peoples’ rights are protected.
In at least 1000 words, applicants are being asked to discuss the innovative and highly impactful way in which they could aid in re-engineering the way the legal system operates and/or making it more accessible to the public. The deadline to apply is Sunday, Oct. 5. The contest winner will be officially announced on Nov. 28. To apply you must be a U.S. citizen; have a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA on a 4.0 scale; you must currently attend an accredited law school or be enrolling in an accredited law school for the 2014-2015 school year.
