TROY — The Arab American and Chaldean Council (ACC) has launched its winter donation drive to help clients in Wayne, Oakland and Macomb counties get through the season.
Through Wed., Dec. 24, the ACC will be accepting items at its headquarters in Troy (363 W. Big Beaver Road, Suite 300) and Youth Center in Detroit (62 W. Seven Mile Road). Both donation sites will be open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
“Wintertime in Michigan can be extremely dangerous for someone who does not have warm clothing,” said Dr. Haifa Fakhouri, president and CEO of the ACC. “As we enter the season of giving, we want to ensure that our neighbors stay safe and can provide for their families.”
Items requested include; new or gently used shirts, pants, shoes, winter coats, boots, hats, gloves or mittens and other cold weather gear in any size. The organization also is accepting new undergarments, socks and toiletries, as well as household items like shovels and cleaning supplies, toys and holiday gifts for children.
