DEARBORN — The Dearborn Police Department announced this week that it has added four new officers to its police force, three of whom are Arab American residents from the city.
The three Arab American officers are; Michael Hammoud, a graduate of the University of Michigan-Dearborn, Hashin Zrien, who attended both Henry Ford Community College and Muskegon Community College, and Samir Nasser, who graduated from Madonna University. The fourth officer, Christopher Salisbury, is a Livonia resident who previously served as a Detroit Police officer.
In recent years, many residents had complained that the city was not hiring enough Arab speaking officers to reflect the diversity of the city. Dearborn Police Chief Ron Haddad told The Arab American News earlier this year that he continues to look for qualified individuals from the community.
