DEARBORN — Two shootings occurred in the city over the weekend of November 14-16. No arrests have been made.
On Friday around 2 a.m., police responded to a phone call of a man down on Ford Road, between Wyoming and Oakman. 23-year-old Oak Park resident Rolex Dior Johnson was injured as a result of a gunshot wound.
Johnson was immediately taken to a hospital but died as a result of his injuries.
In a press release, Dearborn Police Chief Ron Haddad said that the suspects were still on the loose.
“Crimes of this magnitude are extremely rare in the Dearborn and the loss of life in this incident is profoundly tragic. Our thoughts are with the family of Mr. Johnson and we are committed to utilizing every resource at our disposal to bring the person(s) responsible to justice,” Haddad said.
It would just be one day later when yet another shooting would occur in the city.
On Saturday, November 15, an altercation occurred between motorists at a parking lot at Fairlane Town Center outside of the P.F. Chang’s restaurant.
A passenger in an Equinox was armed and got out of the car to fire shots at a driver in a red vehicle.
The man that fired the shots got back into the Equinox and the vehicle fled the scene.
Dearborn Police said they were still looking for the individuals involved in the altercation.
