DETROIT — A Wayne County Jury this week found Levere Bryant guilty in the July 2013 murders of Joseph Orlando and Brenna Machus. Both were 20-years-old. Orlando was found dead inside a Dearborn Dollar store’s bathroom with a gunshot wound to the head. Machus’ body was found a few days later in a wooded area near the Southfield Freeway and Michigan Avenue.
Dearborn Police Chief Ronald Haddad praised Bryant’s conviction in a statement.
“This conclusion comes as a result of an amazing effort from members of the Dearborn Police Department, regional partners and the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office,” he said. “The men and women of the Dearborn Police Department committed a great deal of time and resources investigating leads and without the help of the community this case would have been extremely difficult to solve. It is hopeful that with the resolution of this case the families can begin the healing process.”
