DEARBORN — Students from the Bellevue College Arabic Culture Student Association toured the offices of The Arab American News on Wednesday, Dec. 17 as a part of the group’s visit to the local community from Washington state.
Bellevue College is located in Bellevue, Wash., near Seattle.
The students asked about the challenges and achievements of the community and shared stories about their experiences with learning Arabic.
Arabic professor Hakim Chakour told his students that one day they could start a community newsletter that resembles The Arab American News. The students were of different cultural backgrounds and national origins.
Besides the Arab American News, the group visited the Arab American National Museum, the offices of ACCESS, Zaman International and other community organizations and establishments.
