DETROIT — This past weekend, four separate shootings on the city’s east side left two men dead and seven people injured.
On Saturday, a man believed to have been between 35 and 40 was shot on the 4800 block of Nottingham after being chased by a would-be robber who’d tried to hold him up out side a store at Nottingham and East Warren.
A 44-year-old man was killed during a shooting early Sunday morning at the Chalmers Community Hall.
No one has been arrested in either killing.
Among those injured over the weekend were a 53-year-old man who was shot in the shoulders and legs at a Citgo gas station on the 11700 block of Chalmers at about 1 a.m. on Saturday.
On Sunday morning at about 11 a.m., a 15-year-old boy, shot in the leg while walking along the 19700 block of Shields Street. A police spokesman said he wasn’t sure if the boy was the target.
No one has been arrested in either case.
At about 4:15 a.m. Sunday morning, someone opened fire on a crowd at the Chalmers Community Hall. In addition to the man who was killed, five others were injured, including a 44-year-old woman working as a security guard working at the church next door; a 36-year-old woman; a 36-year-old man; a 40-year-old woman; and a 27-year-old man.
