FOWLERVILLE — By racking up nine gold medals and five silver medals at the Koubeissi Tae Kwon Do School athletes dominated the competition at the 2015 USAT Michigan Tae Kwon Do State Championships held here on March 28. Led by their head coach and instructor, Master Ali Koubeissi, each of the 15 highly-motivated and disciplined athletes automatically earned a qualifying spot for the 2015 USA Tae Kwon Do Junior or Senior National Championships, taking place this summer in Austin, Texas.

The students’ accomplishments could not have been possible without the sacrifices these athletes endured. It was their early Sunday morning training sessions, late night preparations, dieting, and constant exercise of the mind and body that allowed these competitors— ranging from 8 to 25— to excel and make history at the elite Tae Kwon Do competitions.
