DEARBORN—The
advisory board of the Al-Mabarrat charitable organization held an election on
Tuesday March 31 to elect the Great Revelations Academy Board of Education
(GRA). GRA is an independent, Islamic school scheduled to open Fall 2015 and
includes grades K-9.
Arabic
and Islamic studies will be embedded and integrated into the new Dearborn
school’s curriculum.
Dr.
Fuad Turfah was elected Chairman; Mr. Fouad Baydoun: Vice-Chairman; Mr. Ibrahim
Chami: Treasurer; Mr. Ali Nasser: Public Relations; Mr. Ahmad Bazzi: Secretary;
Mr. Toufic Baydoun: Trustee; Dr. Ali Nassar: Trustee; Mr. Kamal Turfah:
Trustee; and Dr. Jamal Kassir: Trustee.
Community
member Imad Fadlallah represents Equity Educational Consulting, as a consultant
on the project. Among other advisory services, Fadlallah will assist in the
hiring of staff and the adoption of a curriculum for the school. Fadlallah has
recommended, with board approval, the hiring of Mrs. Sheila Charara as Principal
of GRA.
Charara
is seeking highly-qualified, certified teachers in all subjects for full-time
positions. On Saturday, May 16 the GRA will hold a dinner followed by
an open house to welcome the community the school.
