DETROIT — In an online post, the terrorist group ISIS threatened to target five states: Michigan, Illinois, Virginia, Maryland and California.
ISIS threatened similar attacks like the one that occurred in Texas last weekend at an event related to a draw the Prophet Muhammad cartoon contest.
In the post, the terrorist group said it has 71 trained soldiers in 15 states ready to attack.
Andy Arena, the special agent in charge of the Detroit FBI, said the terrorist group thrives on fear.
Arena told FOX 2 he thinks this is part of ISIS’ plan to scare people.
“From that standpoint, they succeed, they win,” he said.
