NEW YORK CITY – A Muslim woman captured carrying a paitball gun caused a scare in Staten Island on Friday. 

The woman in a headscarf was seen with four young men along Midland Beach transferring the black “weapons” between two cars. 

After the photos began circulating, local residents in the area feared that an attack was likely. 

However, NYPD firearms expert said Friday afternoon they “strongly resembled” paintball guns after conducting a forensic exam, according to NYPD Deputy Commissioner John Miller.

Cops also said they interviewed one of the owners of the cars who said he was going paintball shooting with pals Friday.

Police were on high alert after a retired cop tipped them off about the incident.
