CLINTON TOWNSHIP— Three men were sentenced to life in
prison Aug. 4 in the March 28, 2014 shooting death of Basil Sulaka, owner of
the Moon Light Party Store on Harper Avenue near 14 Mile Road.
Sulaka, 51, of Sterling Heights was shot to death at the store he
operated for 18 years.
In June, a jury found Darius Diaz-Gaskin, 25, of Detroit;
Jomar Robinson, 26, of Clinton Township and Kenneth Hill, 27, of Clinton
Township guilty of felony murder and three other charges.
In April, the fourth defendant, Clinton Grayson, 26, of
Warren was convicted of the same charges and also received a life sentence.
The four said they had no intention of taking Sulaka’s life when they
robbed his store.
Sulaka leaves behind a wife and two daughters.
