Security footage shows the suspect at Beaumont Hospital.

DEARBORN – A cash box has been reported stolen from the valet cashier’s desk at Beaumont Hospital, 18101 Oakwood Blvd.  

Dearborn Police say the larceny took place at about 7:40 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 5. 

Security footage shows the male suspect, who was wearing a backpack, walk behind the cashier’s desk. The desk was unoccupied while employees assisted customers outside. 

The suspect, between 18 and 25 years old, bent down near the cabinet where the cash box was located, out of camera view. 

A few seconds later, the suspect walked away carrying the backpack in hand.

When employees returned to the desk, the cash box was missing.

Security footage shows the suspect exiting the through the Medical Building hallway.

“We strongly encourage anyone with information to come forward and assist us in identifying the suspect in this case,” Dearborn Police Chief Ronald Haddad said in a statement.
