DETROIT — Former Congressman John
Dingell is back in the hospital and will undergo a heart procedure, his wife,
Congresswoman Debbie Dingell, D-Dearborn, said in a press release on  Tuesday.

The 89-year-old former congressman is
currently being treated at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit after being admitted
Monday.

This marks Dingell’s second trip to
the hospital in under a year. He was hospitalized with a fractured hip last
December.

Dingell became the longest member of
Congress history, serving for over 59 years. In 2014, his wife succeeded him,
becoming a congresswoman for the 12th District.
