DEARBORN – Mayor Jack O’Reilly sent a letter to residents, urging the community to ignore the anti-Muslim bigots, who are planing are protest in front of the Islamic Center of America on Saturday, Oct. 10.
The mayor also slammed Fox News for its segment that “mischaracterized” Dearborn.
O’Reilly added that the planned demonstration is not an honest forum for dialogue, emphasizing that the best way to deal with such protesters is to stay away from them.
“I am asking all our community leaders to promote one message: Go about your usual business and ignore our visitors,” O’Reilly wrote. “We cannot let them succeed in creating a false image of who we are that goes out over the media.”
