Every year, millions of Shi’a Muslims around the world commemorate Ashura, mourning the death of Imam Hussein – Prophet Mohammad’s grandson – during a seventh-century battle.

A local Turkish medical student observing the billboard says he thinks it’s interesting, because it shows that many Dearborn Muslims can be more religious than ones in countries with restricted freedoms. However, he said local Muslims of different sects can be more tolerant of each other.
