DEARBORN – A Transportation Security Administration Inspector saved a woman from a burning vehicle, The Dearborn Press and Guide Reported.
TSA Inspector Amy Jishi was driving from work at Detroit Metropolitan Airport Oct. 23 when she witnessed a two vehicle accident in an intersection.
One Vehicle was leaking gasoline with fire igniting beneath the car. Jishi ran through the intersection to the car to inform the female driver who wasn’t aware. The door of the vehicle was also jammed.
Jishi eventually freed the driver and directed her to safety. She also assisted the driver in the second vehicle.
Jishi received a warm embrace from the driver of the first vehicle as well as a heartfelt “thank you” from the driver’s mother.
“We are all proud of Amy’s quick decision making and selfless actions,” said TSA Federal Security Director Steve Lorincz. “She represents the type of dedication and service that TSA strives to deliver.”
Jishi has been Transportation Security Inspector for the TSA at Detroit Metropolitan Airport for eight years now.
