DEARBORN – Civil rights leader Rev. Jesse Jackson, president of the Rainbow PUSH Coalition, will weigh in on the Syrian refugee crisis at a town hall meeting in Dearborn on Sunday at 4 p.m.
The meeting, dubbed “All Lives Matter: Syrian Refugees in Peril”, will be open to the public. It will take place at the Lebanese American Heritage Club, 4337 Maple St.
The forum is sponsored by the Rainbow PUSH Coalition and the Arab American Civil Rights League (ACRL). Journalist and author Bankole Thompson, a columnist at The Detroit News will moderate the event, which will also feature three Arab American leaders.
Panelists include Osama Siblani, publisher and editor of the Arab American News, and Nabih Ayad, founder of the ACRL. Other invited guests include U.S. Rep. John Conyers, the Dean of Congress, and Rev. Wendell Anthony, president of the Detroit branch NAACP.
