DETROIT — Lebanese band Mashrou’ Leila will perform on Saturday, June 4.
The acclaimed five-member alternative rock band has a large following of young listeners in the Middle East, despite its unconventional music that does not follow the trends of Arabic pop songs. The band was formed in February 2008 at the American University of Beirut.
The group’s songs focus on social satire, politics and romance. Lost love, war, immigration and sexuality have been common themes in the band’s music.
Mashrou’ Leila’s concert will take place at the Grenadier Club in Detroit.
