DEARBORN — Police arrested a 34-year-old Detroit man for breaking and entering into a businesses near Tireman and Schaefer in the early hours of Friday, April 15.
At approximately 3:45 a.m. on Friday the Dearborn Police were on patrol in the area. Two officers observed a window shattered at a business and they witnessed Henry Russell Johnson, inside the business.
The officers set up a perimeter, around the business, and requested back up while they watched Johnson inside the store.
Johnson noticed the officers outside and he tried to flee the scene on foot. He exited the business but surrendered upon seeing an officer waiting in the alleyway.
Johnson was charged with breaking and entering a building with intent. He was arraigned by Judge Mark Somers, in the 19th District Court, and bond was set at $5000/Personal with a GPS tether requirement upon release.
“The quick action by officers resulted in the arrest of a subject wanted for a break in,” Dearborn Police Chief Ronald Haddad said. “I commend these officers for their dedication to protecting our citizens and business owners alike.”
The city has been the target of recent serial break-ins. Police are calling for residents’ help to combat crime.
