DEARBORN — Police arrested two Dearborn residents in the early morning hours of Tuesday for breaking into several cars on the east side of the city.
The suspects were identified as Torki Hassan, 23, and Ali Aldubaily 19.
At approximately 4:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Dearborn Police responded to the 6000 block of Mead on a report of two men breaking into vehicles. The caller witnessed the suspects enter an unlocked vehicle, and they attempted to enter another vehicle nearby.
Police officers also saw the two men enter several vehicles; though they could not gain entry to some cars because the vehicles were locked.
The suspects were arrested and numerous articles of stolen property were recovered, police said.
Hassan and Aldubaily were both charged with Larceny from Auto and Breaking and Entering a Motor Vehicle.
Dearborn Police Chief Ronald Haddad stressed the importance of collaboration from the community to prevent crime.
“These suspects were responsible for dozens of larcenies during this crime spree, and I urge citizens to be vigilant in securing their vehicles,” Haddad said in a statement. “This crime spree is an example why the Lock it or Lose it campaign for educating the public is important.”
