Upon obtaining a description of the thieves and their car from neighbors who witnessed the larceny, Dearborn police officers discovered and arrested Taquille Collins, 21, and Swayvon Sherrod, 24 near Evergreen and Michigan Avenue.
The navigation system, which was thrown from the thieves’ cars, was recovered.

“We are grateful that a citizen took the initiative to contact the police immediately which allowed us to respond and apprehend the suspects,” Dearborn Police Chief Ronald Haddad stated.
“Due to the concerned citizen’s willingness to get involved we were able to recover the stolen property and prevent the suspects from further victimizing our residents and visitors. This is yet another example of the police and community working together to ensure that Dearborn remains a safe place to live, work, and visit.”
