ORLANDO – Noor Zahi Salman Mateen, the 30-year-old wife of Omar
Mateen, is being considered for possible criminal charges.

Officials believe she may have
known something about the attack in advance, though they are still
investigating what and how much she knew.

She apparently drove with Omar
Mateen to the Pulse nightclub at least once in the past, and told FBI agents
that she talked him out of attacking the nightclub.

 Noor Mateen reportedly visited
her apartment Monday night, accompanied by authorities, to pack up her things.

Salman lived with Mateen at his home on the Atlantic coast. 

News reports suggest the couple had been together since 2013. She scrubbed her social media presence after Mateen’s attack, but one existing photo of her shows her smiling with Mateen, their 3-year-old son between them.

 She is now providing key details
about her husband’s activities, according to a senior counter-terrorism
official involved in the investigation.

 Omar Mateen’s father, Saddique
Mateen, told ABC News he saw his daughter-in-law overnight for first time since
the attack.

He said he also spoke with his
grandson overnight for the first time since the attack and the boy was asking
for his father.

 He confirmed Noor Mateen has been
interviewed by police along with other family members. He says he has no
knowledge of her involvement in his son’s attack.

 Saddique Mateen said he does not
know if she knew or tried to talk Omar out of it.

 He added that he does not believe
his son was gay and that any use of gay dating apps or visits to gay clubs were
likely for scouting a location for an attack.
