DEARBORN HEIGHTS, Mich. (WXYZ) – Dearborn Heights police said two sisters were killed in an accident involving a semi truck on Thursday morning.

The accident happened around 9 a.m. near the intersection of Van Born and Beech Daly. 

Police said 22-year-old Heidi Fox and 19-year-old Samantha Fox were traveling in a Ford Focus on Beech Daly when they reportedly ran a red light and hit the trailer of a semi truck. The sisters died in the accident. 

This marks the second fatal accident in recent months at the intersection. 

In June, a man was killed while he was driving his SUV, after a woman driving a pontiac struck him when she ran a red light. The man wasn’t wearing his seat belt.
