DEARBORN – Two suspects were arrested for allegedly breaking into numerous vehicles on August 29, around 4:30 a.m.
The suspects were identified as Mohammed Ahmed, a 21-year-old Dearborn resident, and Seddiq Almontesar, an 18-year-old Dearborn resident.
Dearborn Police had received a call from an alerted Dearborn resident who said the men had been breaking into vehicles in the area of Williamson and Colson streets. The resident said she witnessed the two men drive away in a vehicle, giving a detailed description of the car model. Police stopped the two men while they were still in the area.
According to Dearborn Police, a brief foot pursuit ensued before both men were captured and arrested. Police seized numerous items of stolen property.
Ahmed was charged with Felony Flee and Elude and three counts of Larceny from Vehicle. He was arraigned in 19th District Court. Ahmed’s bond was set at $50,000/10% and he will be required to wear a GPS tether if he posts bond.
Almontesar was charged with three counts of Larceny from Vehicle and also arraigned in 19th District Court. His bond was set at $1,000 cash and a GPS tether will be required if he posts bond.
Probable Cause Conferences have been scheduled for September 9 at 9 a.m. and Preliminary Exam dates of September 16 were set for both subjects to appear in 19th District Court.
